Tim Hardaway: When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong?
NBA baller, Tim Hardaway apparently shocked the world this week with his overstated comments regarding how he really feels about gay people. Simply put, he hates them. As Hardaway boldly put it in terms that any five year old could understand and would probably use themselves,
"You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known. I don't like gay people and I don't like to be around gay people. I am homophobic. I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world or in the United States."
In the wake of Isaiah Washington's recent homophobic rants and admissions, outrage from the gay community has ensued once again, in addition to a public response from the NBA, which has resulted in his ban from this weekend's All-Star events in Vegas. I couldn't help but to fondly recall Dave Chappelle's skits, "When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong", because individuals obviously have the right to harbour whatever feelings they wish, but there should come a time when grown men & women can manage to control chronic diarrhea-of-the-mouth. Just a thought.
